- Less focused on gore, more mystery/crime narrative.
- The Audience learns more about the characters, location and plot.
- Actors are generally more mature and experienced.
- Variety of locations used, usually in the city.
- Themes of psychology
Horror
- Tension all the way through.
- More gore/blood
- Don't get to know characters as well.
- Young cast of characters usually when they are in the start of their careers.
- Sub-urban setting.
- Adult characters are absent
